Run Aintree 2026 – Join Team UHL today!

University Hospitals of Liverpool Charity are thrilled to be the official charity partner for Run Aintree 2026, in partnership with Run Through. This is your chance to take on an incredible challenge at the world famous Aintree Racecourse, home of the Grand National, and make a real difference for patients, families, and NHS staff across Liverpool and beyond.

Why Run for UHL Charities?

Every mile you run will help us fund life changing projects that support our hospitals – Aintree, Broadgreen and the Royal – and the people who rely on them. Your fundraising will go towards:

  • Improving the care environment and our patients’ experience
  • Funding groundbreaking research and development, innovation or education projects
  • Providing innovative, state of the art equipment or systems that enhance NHS care
  • Supporting the health and wellbeing of our staff and volunteers to enable them care for those you care about most.

You can also choose which area you would like to support so if you would like to raise money to support patients in our care, you can. If you have a passion to support work in medical research, you can. If you would like to support the work of our staff and care for their wellbeing, you can. Just give us a call and find out how we can make this possible.

How running for us will help

When you run for UHL Charity, you’re not just taking part in a race, you’re helping to support your neighbour, your friends, your relatives and of course, people you will never meet. Your support means we can continue to provide the very best care for our community. The NHS is stretched like never before, and our charity is being asked more than ever to support staff and teams across our hospitals with requests that go over and above what the NHS can provide.

We support teams like our breast team, who care for thousands of women every year. This year, we have been asked to fund essential items and services that the NHS cannot stretch to and £87.50 will help us to provide one patient, with the following three items.

  • Post-operative bras (£40 each)
  • Shoulder pulleys to aid recovery (£12.50 each)
  • Chemo care baskets with comfort items (£35 each)

£4,550 would help us to support one patient per week for a full year 🩷
